Jim Carrey's commencement speech at Maharishi University's graduate class of 2014 was without a doubt among one of the most wisdom-nugget-filled speeches I've ever seen. I've posted the speech in its entirety for you right here, along with some notes that stuck with me from the talk (below the video).
I hope it inspires you - as much as it inspires me - to take charge and become the leader of your own life.
...FEAR is going to be a player in your life; you get to decide how much, you can spend your whole life imagining ghosts, worrying about the pathway to the future, but all there will ever be, is what's happening here, in the DECISIONS we make in THIS MOMENT, which are based in either LOVE or FEAR.
So many of us choose our path out of fear disguised as practicality, what we really want seems impossibly out of reach and ridiculous to expect so we never dare to ask the universe for it... I'm here saying, that I'm the proof, that you can ASK the universe for it, please.
The effect you have on others is the most valuable currency there is.
Your need for acceptance can make you invisible in this world.
Risk being seen in all of your glory.
I was always out to do something in the world that was bigger than myself, until someone smarter than myself, made me realize that there was nothing bigger than myself.
As far as I can tell [getting what you want] is about letting the universe and working toward it, while letting go of how it comes to pass. Your job is not to figure out HOW it's going to happen for you, but to open the door in your head, and when the door opens in real life, to just walk through it. And don't worry if you miss your cue because there's always more doors opening!
